Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know which products are right for me?

You can use our product flowchart to help you, but if you are still not sure feel free to phone me and I’ll talk you through it.

I have very sensitive skin and often react to products. Do you have a sensitive range?

People often react to artificial fragrances or colours, which can even be found in natural products. I never use either of those, so even if you have sensitive skin, you’re unlikely to react to our products. With the exception of the Intensive Repair Serum, I can confidently say, you should be fine using any of our products! And if you’re concerned, I can send you a sample to try first.

I notice my spritzer has a layer of oil on the top. Is this normal?

Absolutely. The spritzer is a whole lot of goodness in a hydrosol base. Because we do not use anything unnecessary or artificial to hold the oil and water, just give it a gentle shake before use.

My creme is a different colour to the last one I got, why is that?

That is the beauty of natural products! As seasons change, so will the colour of the plants and extracts in your skincare products. Avocado oil, for example, changes from lime green at the start of the season to buttery yellow towards the end. Think of it as seasons being reflected in your jar, reminding you of the wholesome goodness within.

Do I need to remove the cleanser with a cloth?

No, all the cleansers can be removed by simply washing with water. However, if you are removing make-up or you have been in a dirty environment, a cloth could be more beneficial. My bamboo facial cloths and organic cotton cloths are both great options.

Is it really necessary to do a facial ritual twice daily?

Yes, twice daily is best. At the end of the day, we need to remove debris and prepare our skin for the ‘overnight shift’, when most of the hard work of skin renewal occurs. In the morning, it prepares and protects our skin for the day ahead.

Do you have a moisturiser with SPF in it?

No, I believe that it is not a viable combination. A moisturiser is used to penetrate the skin and treat your specific skin type. A sunscreen should sit on the surface and protect your skin. If you combine those two actions, neither product will be working effectively. I recommend using My Sunshine SPF on top of your preferred Lisa Goodeve moisturiser.

When should I start using eye cream?

Ideally in your 20s before the breakdown of the delicate tissue starts. It is the first part of our face to start showing lines so it’s good to start early.

Could I just use my moisturiser around my eye area?

No, the skin around the eye area is very thin and therefore anything not designed specifically for that area should be avoided. My cleansers are designed to be used on the eye area, otherwise using my eye creme is best to avoid irritation.

I live in Tauranga, can I pick up my products in person?

You sure can! Products can be picked up from 15b Junction Road, Minden or Saints Beauty Studio in Bethlehem. Select the local pick up option in the shipping options when ordering, and write us a note so we can let you know when your order is ready.

I see you have a men’s range. Can’t my husband just use mine?

He certainly can, however the men’s range is designed with a few differences. The cleanser has more slip, making it perfect for shaving, and the spritzer and moisture have vitamin C-rich oils rather than ascorbic acid to avoid irritation post-shaving. Men tend to have oilier and thicker skin, so the oils in their range are tailored to accommodate. Plus, men tend to dig deep into a pot and use too much product, so their moisturiser is in a pump instead. Check out the men’s range.
